Jane Foot - Now A Plumber
Before Jane joined the New Career Skills Plumbing Course she was a working long hours as a chef. She was constantly feeling tied and over worked. She wanted to be working better hours and to earn better money.
Plumbing career means less hours for this ex chef
“Like most chefs I wanted to work less hours and earn more money. I wasn’t sure how I was going to do this, but I knew I needed to get out of the kitchens for good.”
Jane came across New Career Skills and has not looked back.
“There was no way I could do a fulltime course I had to be earning money. I think even if I could have done a full time course I probably wouldn’t. Doing it part time meant I was in control of when and how I learnt and also gradually built my skills and confidence up.”
“Now I am working full time as a plumber. At the moment I am working on smaller jobs while I build up my skills. The hours are much more flexible and the pay is a lot better. One day I will be running my own business but I am not in a big rush.”
