Garry

An appreciation of his instructors’ ‘trade secrets’, made the New Careers Skills plumbing course most enjoyable for Garry, who had been a Licensed Aircraft Engineer for almost 30 years before he changed careers.

Having moved south from the Isle of Man, Garry found he was no longer particularly happy at work. After talking it through carefully with his wife, Garry decided that the time was right for a complete change.

”I have always enjoyed all aspects of plumbing and noticed there was a shortage of good reliable plumbers,” said Garry.

“So I thought this may be a good opportunity for me to bring some of my aircraft engineering skills to the plumbing industry.”

Having found out about New Career Skills through a newspaper advert, Garry duly enrolled for the plumbing course.

The Water Regulations examination and those invaluable ‘hints and tips’ from the instructors made it well worthwhile and, after completing the course, Garry purchased a franchise and is currently in the early stages of setting that up.

”Yes, I would recommend the course,” said Garry. “Though it’s probably of greatest use to those with little or no plumbing experience.”
